Travel & Development Academy Teams

Level 2-3 Programming

Are there separate tryouts for Travel Teams and DA Teams? 

There are NO separate tryouts for Travel and DA Teams. All players attend the same tryouts where players will be evaluated and then placed on teams/or no teams based on skill and performance at tryouts.

Do I need to attend both days of tryouts or just pick one? 

Players are to attend both days of tryouts for proper evaluation. Players will be put through skills & drills on Day 1 to evaluate skill set. Day 2 will be more live play with small sided and full court games to evaluate compete level, decision making, and basketball IQ.

Does everyone attending tryouts make a team? 

No, not everyone is placed on a team hence AE holds tryouts twice a year. After the 2 day tryouts and evaluations, players are placed on Travel Teams (Level 3), DA Teams (Level2), or no team at all. Players not selected will be advised to continue with Level 1 programming; AYBL & Training Academy to further develop.

What is the difference between Travel & DA Teams? 

AE Travel Teams are our Rep/Elite teams for each respective grade/age level. Travel teams practice 3x a week and primarily play in competitions in the US. 

Development Academy (DA) teams are our select teams for players who have out-grown Level 1 programs or have a good foundation of skills but not ready for US competitions. 

What are the Team Fees?

Can I get a refund if I choose to no longer play on the team? 

There are NO refunds for Travel or DA Teams. All players/parents are advised to read the player contracts thoroughly  prior to signing up for tryouts and/or accepting your team roster spot.
