Class of 2018 combo guard Taya Hanson who helped Team Canada to the gold medal at the FIBA Americas girls championships this past June has splashed on to the radar of major division 1 schools across the U.S.The summer was a very successful campaign for Taya as she made a huge impact on the AAU scene playing for the Athelite U16 Elite team. Numerous American programs have reached out and coaches are anxious to see the young star play this upcoming season.
The athletically gifted and explosive 5’9 combo guard is heading into her sophomore season with Kelowna Secondary this upcoming season. Last season she played on the Junior team helping KSS to a bronze medal while picking up a 1st team all star and defensive MVP along the way. Touted as one of the top young players in the country, Taya is a fearless defender who attacks the rim with conviction. She has a high motor and shoots the ball extremely well from mid range and beyond the arc. Look for Taya to do big things this season.
