Winter Training 2017

Tykes Academy (Ages 3-5)

An introduction to basketball, the tykes co-ed program will teach basic basketball fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting through fun game play. Our main focus is on providing a fun and enjoyable first experience to sport.

FUNdamentals Academy (Ages 6-8)

The primary concentration is placed on developing the ABCs – Agility, Balance Coordination and Speed. Strength, endurance and flexibility will be developed, but through games and fun activities rather than a training regimen. At this stage, we foster an environment that promotes a child’s ability to learn to “read” the movements going on around them as they begin to learn decision making.

Skills Academy (ages 9-12)

The main focus as we transition the athletes into more formalized training methods will be skill development and physical preparation. However, the emphasis will still be on general sports skills suitable to a number of activities as we aim to promote multi-sport athletes at this age. Our goal is to maximize a sensitive time period of accelerated adaptation to skills training and fine motor control.

Prep Academy (ages 13-15)

Athletes will be challenged with advanced drill work and technical components of basketball. This is a very sensitive time period as athletes begin to mature physically at a rapid pace. We will work closely with our athletes to ensure they maximize their window of opportunity for strength, endurance and flexibility training.
